Excellent Celeb Spot No. 1

Hello,
Sorry for the inactivity on the blog over the last few days (nearly a week! Agh!). A reduced access to the internet is the cause of this. One that will be remedied very soon. Anyway, here's a sneaky work post.

Travelling back from London last week, who should we see sitting 3 rows in front of us? Porkpie. The popular character from the 1989 (to 1994) sitcom, 'Desmond's'. So popular in fact that he was given his own eponymously titled spin-off series when Desmond's finished up. In this series he wins the lottery and mayhem ensues. What a great idea. All sitcoms should do that. When they finish, do a series where one of the characters wins the lotto. I would've loved to see Fr. Dougal try and deal with a sudden surge in wealth. It would've been hilarious. Or what would've happened if Officer Crabtree (the police officer who can't speak french properly) from Allo Allo had won millions. He would've gotten into loads of side-splitting scrapes like trying to order fancy wine in an expensive restaurant and the waiter can't understand him. That would've been a two-part episode. I jest. I never saw Porkpie but I seem to remember liking Desmond's quite a bit (although I was only six when it began). Here's the opening credits of Porkpie...

I say we saw 'Porkpie', as opposed to Ram John Holder who is the actor who played Porkpie, because it WAS Porkpie that we saw. He honestly hasn't aged a bit in nearly 20 years and dressed the exact same as he did in the show. It was Porkpie that we saw. Since seeing him, I decided to do a little digging. What I didn't know was that he was a musician beforehand and by the looks of things, he was one cool mister...

I'm sure that if you go to Ram John Holder's blog there will be a big post about how he saw Diet of Worms on a flight to Dublin.
